Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Toffee, marzipan, flower baskets, ripe cherry bakewell pie. Sun-dried hay stacks and a packet of small caramel wafers.
Palate: More of the caramel wafers, bags of sweetness rolls in, those flower notes, courgette flowers, red liquorice.
Finish: Long and lush with all that sweetness.
Comment: A delightful Highland number with some gorgeous herby and fruity notes working their way through.

Taster Becky Paskin

Nose: Dense and inviting with a dose of gingerbread, baking spice and earthy sherry. The dessert list continues into sticky toffee pudding and apple pie baked with red apples and sultanas.
Palate: Shortcrust pastry and muscovado sugar, with more of those baked red apples. The spice builds into the middle with some toasted oak.
Finish: Gooey treacle tart, which sadly doesn’t stick around for long.
Comment: Some lovely flavours here, though I’d have enjoyed a touch more depth.
