Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Taut, herbal, spicy and coffeed aromas which display an almost astringent rye-like character. Quite youthful and edgy with a touch of vanilla softening.
Palate: As taut and herbal as the nose! A veritable mouthful of first fill Oloroso – dark treacle, chocolate and rather drying combination of alcohol and tannins. Ooh this is a bit of a brute!
Finish: Intense and mouth-watering with a smoky and spicy finish.
Comment: A very clean, unblemished, herbal sherry monster. Completely lacking in subtlety for me, but this style of whisky has its adherents!

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: There is a nuttiness to this, mainly walnuts and hazelnuts. Carrot cake and nutmeg.
Palate: The palate is overly dominating by new oak, with enormous flavours of vanilla and cherry.
Finish: Sweet oak and dark cherry notes.
Comment: One could be forgiven for thinking that this was a flavoured liqueur, with the intensity of the vanilla and cherry flavours.
