Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Toffee and ice cream to start with, then in time it develops into rich coffee and cream. Custard and nutmeg. Sherry soaked plums. Slight BBQ pork roasting over a woodfire towards the end.
Palate: A fruity palate, strawberries, blackberries and mango. Citrus zest too. Eventually those sherry notes start to appear.
Finish: The fruit lingers before the smoke rises and takes over. It dries on the wood smoke.
Comment: Really like the way the sherry notes are integrated with the wood smoke.

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Fragrant notes of basmati rice, sage leaves, prawn cocktail crisps and buttered sweetcorn followed by cranberries, sugared almonds and felt fabric.
Palate: Spice from a Thai green curry followed by soft cotton candy, unsalted butter, toffee popcorn and sharp brambles bursting at the end.
Finish: Light spice and juicy red fruits.
Comment: A very interesting blend of flavours, with highly aromatic spices.
