Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Elderflower cordial, delicate fresh ginger, white grape juice, green apple and a touch of spearmint. A little aloe and tinned clementine segments. Subtle milk cookie and beeswax.
Palate: Medium bodied and slightly waxy. Seems light at first, builds steadily to become rather intense. Pear cordial, blood orange, and a touch of rose. Real honeycomb and roasted almond.
Finish: The almond fades to apricot and poached pears.
Comment: Throws you about a bit but shows you a good time.
8.5
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Bakewell tart with thick icing and almond flakes. Orange zest and muscovado sugar, rye bread, hazelnuts and cinnamon.
Palate: Pork chops on the barbeque, light sweet smoke, pear drops, orange zest, clove spice and a whole lot of heat. Herbal notes of heather honey and zingy ginger biscuits.
Finish: A medium finish of heather and sweet smoke that dries up quickly.
Comment: Complex, for sure, but it’s really hot. I might have to try this in a smoky whisky margarita (don’t hate the player).
