Tasting notes
Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: Very estery, pear drops and pineapple cubes. With water some complex and subtle phenols, as it settles autumn woodsmoke and dry ash. With plenty of time to settle in the glass a subtle tone of roasted peanuts or peanut butter.
Palate: Woodsmoke, and parma ham, with a vanilla sweetness. Some salty nuts too.
Finish: Pink dettol, estery.
Comment: Complex and balanced. Excellent.
9.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Initially, stewed fruit/marmalade and roasted nuts, then the smoke begins to build. This melange of fruit, nut and peat fires makes it multi-faceted.
Palate: Immediate overwhelming smokiness which hangs there as the spirit slowly unfolds. Pecan, hazelnut. Sweet spices. Great length.
Finish: Ash and pepper. Tingling.
Comment: Complex with excellent balance. A typical for a Speyside, but it's one hell of a dram!
