Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Stewed apples and brown sugar, hazelnut purée, rose petals, barley sugar, fudge. Sweet, floral and rich. Delightful.
Palate: A little woody spice, some sweet orchard fruit, liquorice, a dusting of soot and creamy fudge. There’s also a touch of fresh apple juice.
Finish: Lingering apple skin, raisins and a touch of oak.
Comment: Solid, dependable and very well made. Really ticks all the boxes.
8.4
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Tea soaked fruits in preparation for baking a tea loaf. Plum jam. Light hay and wooden fruit boxes. Honey and fig pastry notes.
Palate: Fruit tea sweetened with honey, and granary toast with figs and date jam. Silky textured and mead like. Milk chocolate and amontillado sherry. A hint of mint.
Finish: A soft rounded and balanced texture.
Comment: Exceptionally smooth and easy to drink – a real ‘reach for the bottle’ dram.
