Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: First things first. This needs water to allow it to open. Neat it’s indistinct and hot, but diluted and it’s a revelation. Perfumed with touches of lemon, creamed butter, golden caster sugar, apple and rose petal.
Palate: Needs the water to allow it to relax and bring out a developing peachiness. The rose returns along with a good layering softness. Oak is balanced.
Finish: Long and rich.
Comment: Sleek and languorous. An excellent mature whisky.
8.7
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Prickly. The alcohol teases the nostrils. Nutty. Crushed almonds. Milk hazelnuts and raisins bar. Hint of praline.
Palate: Surprisingly sweet. Warm but not burning. Praline. Oak shows at mid palate. A slight astringency.
Finish: Medium. Sweet maltiness. A nutty aftertaste.
Comment: The nose is aggressive but the palate is sweet. However, quite one dimensional flavourwise.
