Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Salt. Crusty bread. Well-done toast. Dusty malt. Warehouse aromas.
Palate: Sweet. Bay leaves. Ground black peppercorns. Sea salt. Seaweed. Iron.
Finish: Very long. Hugely powerful. Have I sipped whisky or eaten Gentleman's relish?
Comment: Bring on the pizza Napoletana (or if you are in Naples, the Romana).
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Needs time (and water) to open. When it does, there's olive oil, pepper, burned timbers on the beach.
Palate: Lean with a lightly oily feel, then a blast of smoke giving hints of seaweed, smoked fish, underpinned by a honeyed sweetness.
Finish: Dies a little.
Comment: Needs more input from the cask. Still, another great selection for TWS.
