Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A note first on the dark, burnt amber colour. Why? Because it gives away everything that the nose is: Black Forest gâteau, old leather and wax.
Palate: The palate continues this theme but adds in the bitterness of traditional liquorice, some biltong and a warm cinnamon bun. The oak and spirit are well in balance.
Finish: Here, the spirit fires up playing well against the wood to deliver a fruit finish
Comment: A good balance of fruit and oak, we are in no doubt this has spent time in wood.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Gritty, tannic, sherry. Mature, pruney and balsamic with dried black grape, pepper, treacle and lightly herbal coffee note.
Palate: A little softeras the huge gobs of treacle coat the tannins. All cask orientated with dried fruit and coffee. Fairly alcoholic but the treacle doesn’t give in to it.
Finish: Long, succulent and very juicy with dark toffee, citrus and raw cask chocolaty tannins and cocoa powder.
Comment: A bold dram with lots of oak influence.
