Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Barbeque prawns with honey and treacle-glazed roasted gammon. Smoked haddock and warm milk.
Palate: A creamy mouthfeel with lashings of warm honey and butterscotch. A hint of liquorice laces. Treacle-glazed roasted meat notes prevail.
Finish: Rounded and warming with gentle spice prickle and sumptuous honey notes.
Comment: Mellifluous and charming. This one is comforting and enticing and perfect for a winter’s evening in front of a roaring fire.

Taster Becky Paskin

Nose: Delicate and floral (rose petal, Turkish delight) but with a gentle fruitiness, like young strawberries or raspberry leaf tea. A richer, sweet undertone of caramel, morello cherries and raisin-studded milk chocolate.
Palate: Fruity and chocolatey with a delicious oily texture. The bramble fruits pull through, but it becomes dry and spicy with black pepper and chilli heat.
Finish: Dry. The spice subsides to advent calendar chocolate and dried cranberries.
Comment: A lovely whisky to enjoy in the lead up to Christmas.
