Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Light and packed with puff pastry and melted butter. Rum and raisin ice cream, shades of fig and mozzarella.
Palate: Plenty of wood showing its grip here, pencil shavings and light smoked ham. Ice cream wafers with raspberry sauce.
Finish: Swift, drying on those wood notes.
Comment: A good solid blend that is going to sit right in any situation.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: At first it’s grassy and green, with pear drop and a whiff of hair spray. Somewhat herbal, with tarragon and marjoram. Then there’s sawn oak and sweet pastries with sultanas and cream.
Palate: Very light, with icing-sugar sweetness. The sultana and vanilla cream transfers over on to the palate, as the nose suggests.
Finish: More vanilla, with more of that green note. Perhaps a very subtle celery edge?
Comment: Very simple and easy drinking.
