Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Wet tissue paper, cloudy apple juice, old leather and cocoa powder. An odd combo, but also strangely enlightening.
Palate: Very dry, digging right into the tastebuds, but then the juiciness arrives; blackcurrant, fresh rhubarb, malted chocolate and menthol/minty notes. A resonant whisky indeed.
Finish: The blackcurrant subsides, leaving a tingling combination of chocolate and fruit sherbet.
Comment: Robust enough to hold its own after a lavish dessert - a choice worth considering if holding a little evening soirée.
8.2
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Restrained. Not very expressive. A light floral aroma. Elderberry, sweet white flowers. Pomegranate syrup.
Palate: Light and crisp. Sweet vanilla syrup. Not much more.
Finish: Dry and slightly astringent.
Comment: A shy whisky with a restrained aromatic profile.
