Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Mature, subtle and richly sherried with dried prune, fig, walnuts and orange conserve. Hints of rye-like herbs, Golden Syrup and Demerara sugar follow. Late damp earth and dunnage warehouses.
Palate: Elegant and subtle. Juicy dried plum, raisin and prune mingle with malt, treacle, and coffeed, bitter tannins.
Finish: Long and spicy, but rather drying with lingering coffee, wood smoke and cinnamon sticks.
Comment: An incredibly laid back, mature malt. A dram that requires time and contemplation.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: The distillery character, or spirit notes, are clear in this whisky which seems to have been in an active cask pulling out big oak notes and matching it with spirit.
Palate: The oak comes through first and foremost here almost like a heavy and old cigar. I’m not getting many other flavours from maturation coming through.
Finish: Lots of oak and spirit.
Comment: Just not enough beyond oak and spirit for me.
