Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Greek yoghurt with lots of honey, red apple, and fresh berries – blueberry, blackberry and raspberry. Wholemeal flour and yeast starter, candied lemon and orange squash. Walnuts and treacle bass notes.
Palate: Light bodied. Well-integrated flavours from the nose are joined by a significant nuttiness (almonds and walnuts), along with fruits of the forest – minus the cherry. Raisin and chewy cinder toffee, too.
Finish: Medium-short, with a little black tea.
Comment: Another solid Highlander.
8.2
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Sweet and metallic, with kids’ party pineapple, ham and cheese sticks. Floral notes of orange blossom, then moss and pencil sharpenings.
Palate: Oily coating, with fruit and nut bar, leading into that metallic note again. Orange blossom is back, with honey and ginger spice, hay and heather.
Finish: It’s certainly herbal, but there’s also drying fruit and nut and milk chocolate.
Comment: It didn’t quite get me there, but it was certainly a solid whisky with plenty about it to delve into.
