Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Subtle and mature with blood orange, lime and sherry spice. Earth, cigar ash, pruney dried fruit, pepper, salt, coffee and an echo of peat.
Palate: Pleasantly mature with plenty of cocoa powder and dark chocolate coated raisins Gritty peat and wood tannins; liquorice and light treacle balance. Gently citric and salty.
Finish: Long and dry. It’s a riot of cocoa and dark chocolate.
Comment: Dark chocolate and whisky, my favourite combination and if I can have it in a glass, then even better!

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Plums, green tomatoes and freshly turned earth. There is an element of oak spice and some vanilla too.
Palate: The palate gives a lot of malt, some sweetness and a big hit of aged oak. The aged notes linger long on the palate.
Finish: More of the oak spice and some leather and dark chocolate notes.
Comment: The oak influence here has masked a little of the spirit nature and I’d say needed less time in oak.
