Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Woody and dense at first, pencil shavings and sweet scented soap. Figs and cedar wood. Some Christmas spices and plum pudding.
Palate: There is a drying wood edge to this, olive oil, a little toasted coconut. Sherry has made its mark. A floral note emerges.
Finish: Short with a gentle sweetness and light grassiness.
Comment: A good post dinner dram for this time of year.
7.9
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Brandy snap biscuits, dried ginger, a little brown sugar and some moist hay all arrive at the same time. With water, a fresh fruity cherry note pops up too.
Palate: Initially quite dry, with a vermouth aromatic note, some salty olives and a Fino/Manzanilla sherry note. Water thins the whole mixture out, giving more of a dried flower, faded potpourri element.
Finish: Quite short, with an oaky residue and a sugary vanilla sweetness with it.
Comment: Fairly lightweight, with a couple of decent Tapas-influenced twists.
