Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Delicate coal smoke and petrichor. Leaf mulch and dried limes. Pomegranate juice and sea air. Perhaps a whiff of Vaseline, with pear drop and white grape juice beneath.
Palate: Very light bodied. Barbeque-charred apples and pears, smoked orange segments and a little green olive. A touch of celery and chive. A little anise and the merest hint of TCP.
Finish: Medium length. The smoke dissipates, leaving a delicate medicinal aftertaste.
Comment: A refined peated whisky.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Rubber bike tyres, gentle smoked salmon, cork board and bandages. A gentle hint of fresh clotted cream.
Palate: Quite intense initially, like a mouthful of creosote, then it calms to the rubber note. A milk chocolate and hazelnut bar, with wholemeal pancakes and icing sugar.
Finish: The finish is surprisingly sweet, lingering cinnamon spice warmth and rubber soles.
Comment: Although it’s not necessarily to my taste, I can appreciate the delicacy between big flavours and it did grow on me.
