Tasting notes
Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Dusky and damp tones of candlewax, wood polish and wet bark. Eventually a clean quality arises with yoghurt covered cranberries, lemon zest and warm milk.
Palate: Clean and fragrant. Gorse flowers, elderberries, vanilla pods and pollen soften the palate with white pepper lifting a subtle spice through.
Finish: Short and crisp, but with a softly powdered consistency.
Comment: Sitting at my grandmother’s dressing table, trying on perfumes and stealing the occasional Turkish Delight.
8.5
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Fresh and full of crystallised fruit sweets, pear drops. In time it gets richer with hessian bags and velvet jackets.
Palate: A big hit of alcohol at first, but this gives way to some fruit notes. Poached pears and apple tarts. Vanilla custard slice. Actone pear drops. The oak grips gentlely towards the end.
Finish: Long with a clingy linseed oil quality to it. Eventually those pear notes come through as well.
Comment: Take your time and it will reward you with an excellent nose and some serious complexity.
