Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: A soft and elusive opening aroma that is led by American oak, with soapy vanilla, matcha ice cream, balsa wood, and runny honey on white toast.
Palate: Light-bodied, with a soft, effervescent alcohol-led spice and bright, white sugar sweetness, like wedding cake icing or fondant. Cream cakes, meringue, and iced gems.
Finish: The sweetness continues into the short but punchy finish.
Comment: An uncomplicated and lightly flavoured yet lively whisky that you will enjoy if you have a sweet tooth.
7.8
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Really nicely herbal to begin with; there’s a lot of sage leaf. Certainly a lot of heat there, and behind that are green tomato stalks and cream cheese on an oat biscuit.
Palate: Soft initially, with a hint of coal tar soap. Then some dried tropical fruit – pineapple and mango. More of the sage note, and a tarragon cheese cracker.
Finish: Lingers with the sage and tomato stalks – chilli heat remains.
Comment: A combination of delicate flavours and some surprises too, playing with sweet and savoury.
