Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Orange barley sugar water, cherry lozenges and red liquorice laces then a bitter side with toasted rye bread and marmalade. Then floral notes, fresh cut daffodils. A dusty almost winey note to this.
Palate: Wonderful stuff, follows the noes with that aromatic winey note pervading everything. Orange cream chocolates and crystallised ginger. Hints of cherry Bakewell tarts.
Finish: Short and sweet, laced with those floral and winey notes.
Comment: Straight down the line, no messing dram.
8.5
Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: Musty, woody and overall a little leathery to start with. Becomes a bit more robust with rich, ripe red fruits bringing a little sweetness through. Then strawberry jam.
Palate: We have tannins people. It’s a little drying to start with and almost crying out for some sweetness to lighten things up, but it arrives in time and with some impact. Danish pastries and cranberries.
Finish: Again this is pretty drying. Fleeting.
Comment: Tasty enough and notes are well balanced enough. A bit too drying for my taste personally.
