Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Full, fat and fabulously fruity. Slightly unripe pears mingle deliciously with oak and custard.
Palate: Busy arrival on palate: early oak-induced spice tempered by a big demerara-sweet middle.
Finish: Pretty long with that intense barley lingering on with a tinge of oak and molassed raisins.
Comment: The most stylish, complex and hearty of drams which only underlines the tragedy in the demise of this fine distillery.
8.8
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Very flowery indeed. Pollen. Dark liquid honey-very distinct.
Palate: Very creamy. Flowery, fruity, sherryish.
Finish: Touch of true Chablis stoneyness and dryness.
Comment: Perilously easy to drink. The whisky world's answer to a New World Chardonnay.
7.8
