Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A bold nose which speaks more of the forest floor and drying wood than anything else. Middle Earth in a glass; takes me back to my childhood climbing trees in Norway
Palate: Sweetness and more of the damp wood, cherry notes and Black Forest Gateau. In fact, take away the gateau, it is just the Black Forest on the palate: pine sap and dry leaves.
Finish: Sweet and woody. The sweetness is the overriding element.
Comment: A dash of bitters to complete, perhaps. Confounding but enjoyable. Now, how to score?
8.8
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: A cacophony of sour dough, sour cherries, banana skins and rye-like herbs, followed by sweet oak, buttery oak, oily oak and winey, perfumed notes. A bit loud.
Palate: A little watery with a faint cardboardy note. Youthful rye and wheat flake notes come through on the middle and surprisingly there is less oak than the nose would suggest. Bananas and sweet perfume.
Finish: Really perfumed with herbal marc-like notes.
Comment: Eaux de Bourbon or CK B #8 Char perhaps?
7.8
