Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Young, oily and herbal – camphor, cardamom, hops, green wood, green tea and dried marjoram. Hints of barley, boiled sweets and a touch of smoke follow. A honey note attempts to inject some sweetness.
Palate: Opens to reveal corn and toffeed oak. Then the dogs of war are let loose (so to speak) – botanical herbs, camphor, hops, green wood, rye, cardamom. Whoa, that’s a rush!
Finish: Good length with a perfumed note. The herbal oak bitters adding nutmeg, but the oils counter the bitterness.
Comment: It’s another of those love / hate whiskies. Interesting!

Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: New wood… And lots of it too. Very sappy, youthful and spicy, with a hint of flat cola and fresh wood shavings and honeycomb.
Palate: Cocoa notes, some toasted malt, but all dominated by oak. Seems young and needs to calm a little.
Finish: The oakiness continues to dominate the palate.
Comment: Due to its youth, this dram is a work in progress.
