Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Huge first fill Oloroso aromas with green olives, raisins, fig, green nuts and oxidised fruit. With time it becomes quite herbal and treacly with a subtle fragrant smokiness.
Palate: All encompassing sherry monster. Treacle mingles with hints of dark chocolate, coffee, light smoke, salt and gritty tannins.
Finish: Mouth-watering due to the alcohol and herbal with lingering sweet treacle and crystallised citrus.
Comment: One sniff and it confirms that there is going to be zero distillery character here. However it is completely blemish free.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A sherry bomb which rather smothers the distillery character. Lovely oaky notes and a big hit of cherry jam. Heavily polished new wood and coffee.
Palate: Not as dry as I expected from something of this colour, it is actually well balanced with a good deal of fruity flavour (strawberry, balsamic vinegar, rum and blackcurrant juice). With water? More of the same
Finish: The bitterness is saved for this part, giving us a little too much oak.
Comment: Like ‘high def eyebrows’, for me this is overdone, but for others it might be the most attractive thing around.
