Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Pouring this in a glass just says: ' Hello seaside and peat fires.'
Palate: Peat fills the mouth, smoked hams and cheese. Viscous with a hint of digestive biscuits and butter. Some spices lurk at the end.
Finish: Short, peaty, spicy and enticing.
Comment: One for the seaside walk with an onshore wind though.
8.5
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Phenolic. Creosote. Light smoke. Sea brine. With a mineral touch. Like pebbles in the sun. Slowly, more tar and liquorice too. A malty note. Cut grass drying, with a bonfire in the distance.
Palate: Sweet and oily. More liquorice and tar (like the 'pastilles du mineur'
Finish: Dry, soothing on almond notes.
Comment: A well-balanced islander. Again, a summer dram. With shellfish. It does not need water for me.
