Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: A huge whack of iodine, sea salt caramel, heather gorse in bloom, walnut skins, fish smoking warehouses.
Palate: Smoked crab, sweet dark honey, mango waxiness, a little chilli and rice crackers.
Finish: Short and a little salty as well.
Comment: A gorgeous islander, seems well balanced and enjoyable.
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Surprisingly pale for a 15 Years Old whisky. Quite faint at first then some smoke and soot. Dusty straw. Sweeter notes slowly emerge. Vanilla syrup with a touch of lemon. Almond milk (but more the almond of a stone fruit, prussic acid). Hint of yeast.
Palate: Sweet and smoky. Oily. Vanilla, lemonade. A slight fizzy feel. Sooty.
Finish: Sweet and sooty.
Comment: The cask was obviously not active. Not unpleasant but a bit basic. Might be refreshing with ice on a hot (Islay?) day.
