Tasting notes
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Stone fruit-tastic. Fresh and grilled peaches tossed with toasted hazelnuts, walnuts and a honey-mustard dressing.
Palate: A blanket of creamy vanilla lies atop this, before the Dr Jekyll character bursts through. Funky green flavours, peach, orange zest, salty and bitter blue cheese and walnut.
Finish: Soft-serve vanilla ice-cream.
Comment: Interestingly, rather than dominate and deaden the whisky, the vanilla adds a creaminess to the mouthfeel that really benefits those other zanier flavours.

Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: A vanilla-bomb. Custard creams and lemon curd. Boiled potatoes, with some white bread - Champagne-like yeastiness. Perfumed. Oranges. Apple tarts. It’s light and ephemeral, but done well.
Palate: Vanilla, with citrus and green apples. A touch of brine. Herbal, with green tea and green tobacco, and some acidic grapefruit. The underlying spirit is very good indeed.
Finish: Rather short, with vanilla, peaches, sunflower oil and black pepper.
Comment: Too much vanilla for my liking.
