Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Wonderful gentle smoke with a slight old school apothecary herbal and medicinal note. There are fresh fruits here too.
Palate: Orange barley sugar with a gentle tug of peat smoke. There is an earthy quality, almost roasted chestnuts and crispy bacon.
Finish: Long and drying.
Comment: An interesting progression from the five and eight Years Old expressions.
7.9
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Phenolic. Tarry. Smoke on a rainy day. Buttery. Farm yard scents. Wet straw.
Palate: Smooth and round. Good balance. Smoky and briny. Dried coconut. Touch of smoked meat.
Finish: Dry, smoky with a slight astringency.
Comment: A well knitted islander. No complexity but a straightforward character.
