Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Salted caramel and mead. Touches of mint, burnt brown sugar and vanilla pods. Some nice autumn fruit quality here, with blackberry jam and lovely onion chutney sweetness.
Palate: Baked apples and syrup dominate, with brine and heather honey. Peaches and apricots. Slightly grassy, with tannic wood notes, and a pleasant maltiness.
Finish: Long, warming, fruity and silky – and leaving a rather pleasing sensation.
Comment: A delight to drink. Balanced, flavoursome and charming.

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: A heady mixture of aromatic wood and sharper fruit. Sandalwood, potpourri, lemons, apple peel and compote with granola and vanilla pods.
Palate: Richer. Plenty of vanilla. Apple sponge cake decorated with buttercream frosting, followed by numbing Szechuan pepper and cloves, before a green hop note moves in.
Finish: Funky and spicy, with those hops and heat.
Comment: The apple of my eye. Plenty of vanilla-y American Oak influence in this, but it’s balanced out by all that fruit and funk.
