Tasting notes
Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Sharp and fresh. Granny Smith apple peel and chewy flavoured sweets, before aromatic lime blossom and spicy pepper.
Palate: Appealing dichotomy between fresh, sharp apples and toasted characters of granola, studded with cashews and coconut. Vanilla wafts in the back, mingling with salted caramel.
Finish: Green and funky, before bitter grapefruit oil comes in and lingers.
Comment: Fresh and fruity, then toasty and nutty, before getting down and funky. The epitome of 'flavour journey'.
7.8
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Winey characteristics fade to stewed pears in syrup. Herbs underneath. A little flat, then toffee and boiled sweets.
Palate: Better than the nose suggested. Buttermilk, caramel, with a baked apple note, honey, but towards the end it's slightly bitter. Chilli followed by an umami quality. White pepper.
Finish: Stalls a bit. Pepper and honey. Then a pedestrian, bitter aftertaste.
Comment: A mixed affair. This becomes just a shade too unbalanced when the bitterness takes over.
