Tasting notes

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Warming amber with stewed peaches in cinnamon, a hint of foam banana and candyfloss, a little earthy nutmeg and tomato stalks. Apple cider vinegar appears.
Palate: Oily mouthfeel, sweetness of apple and cinnamon sponge, some vanilla and a prickle of chilli heat. Mellows to light fresh peach slices in syrup.
Finish: Fades out quickly with a hint of sage and some greenery.
Comment: This is very friendly. Perhaps a little shorter than I’d like on the finish, but still fun.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Pear drop, malted grains, hair spray, icing sugar, vanilla ice cream and freshly polished oak furniture. Subtle cardboard and rice cake.
Palate: Very light. Lots of vanilla up front, then raw oats, shredded wheat cereal and malted milk drink. Rice paper and roasted red apple, verging on Tarte Tatin.
Finish: Short, with plenty of vanilla and orchard fruits.
Comment: A very grain-forward nose is supported with fruity malts on the palate.
