Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Like the inside of a white chocolate Kinder Bueno. Then stewed apples, slightly musty old wood, like the inside of a well-loved shed. Green freshness, then cinnamon spice, a little polish, heather honey and buttermilk.
Palate: Old leather-bound books are everywhere, then a little milk chocolate, finely grated nutmeg and malted milk biscuits. Then earthy sweetness and red berries.
Finish: Medium length, with earthy sweet notes staying with you.
Comment: It’s the unexpected, delivered in a good way.
8.2
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Raspberry juice and white grape drink (think Shloer or Vimto), with elderflower and anise. Straight dairy ice cream Followed by cinnamon and nutmeg, soft brown sugar and grist.
Palate: Spirit forward and a touch hot at first. A relatively spicy palate, with milk chocolate, more nutmeg, raspberry and white pepper.
Finish: Gently spicy (more white pepper) and pleasantly drying.
Comment: Not a run-of-the-mill single malt whiskey!
