Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: An initial wave of roasted coffee beans and earth, like a snuffed-out clay oven, with coal dust. Freshly cut slate and moss, like a damp forest. Wild strawberries, brambles, and a brandy-like note.
Palate: Chewy, thick body, with gorgeous notes of sweet red berry sauce balanced against drier yet deep cereal notes, chocolate biscuits, Oreos, crispy cannoli pastry, and imperial stout.
Finish: A dark loaf of bread and oak spices.
Comment: Inter-weaving boozy berry and dark cereals make for a stunning combination.
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Like an afternoon tea with lashings of icing sugar dusted all around. Vanilla, cinnamon spiced biscuits, and chocolate fudge brownies.
Palate: The slightly artificial sweetness from the nose becomes a lot more well-rounded and fruity here, with berry compote, strawberry jam, rum-filled raisins, cinnamon spice, and a hint of fennel.
Finish: Fresh and calm, with more fennel and vanilla sponge.
Comment: A really lovely interplay between those complex spices and sweet notes.
