Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Earthy, manure with malt, treacle, dense oak and a herbal and spicy rye. A sour mash character with a winey sweetness. Dense with violet, orange conserve and grippy, coffeed spice.
Palate: Gentle vanilla pod and light treacle. A distinct late harvested grapey sweetness with honey and gentle, spicy rye. Toasty oak, but that winey note is dominant. The alcohol balances.
Finish: Long, succulent with plenty of oily marzipan and some oily corn. Exits with a herbal rye flourish.
Comment: A late harvested wine cask finished rye whisky? It’s dangerously drinkable!

Taster   Charles Montanaro
Nose: Freshly charred oak, apple, massive vanilla and butterscotch. Clean spice, cinnamon, cardamom with a cedar blast.
Palate: Woody, pine and cedar heavy, eucalyptus then the sweetness kicks in balanced by spice with wood and near herbal qualities.
Finish: Medium to long, mint, full bodied and quite oily.
Comment: A mountain Rye, could easily imagine sipping this by a fire in the middle of a forest. Reminds me of aromatherapy, a pleasurable, intriguing experience for sure.
