Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Sweet at first, oh so sweet. Caramelised oranges, melted demerara sugar, honeycomb, cinder toffee with a milk chocolate coating.
Palate: The sweetness takes a back seat, but still definately driving, to manuka honey and rich well stewed blood orange marmalade as well.
Finish: Lingering with that cooked orange tang.
Comment: A nice balance between sweet Bourbony notes and full on runny honey. Could be fun as a cocktail ingredient too.

Taster Martine Nouet

Nose: Very orangey. And sweet. Obviously a whisky liqueur. Seville orange, touch of cinchona. Some honey.
Palate: Sweet but without excess. The same bitter orange profile. Quite sweet though.
Finish: Sweet with a bitter tang as well.
Comment: A pleasant Cointreau-like liqueur. I would drink it on crushed ice or use it in a canard à l’orange sauce.
