Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Sesame toast. Sweet oranges. Marsala wine.
Palate: Fresh. Oily. Light and lively on the tongue. More sesame toast - an exotic transformation of the whisky's typical cereal grain character.
Finish: Fresh tangerines, pistachio nuts, then peppercorns. Very big and very long.
Comment: This highly respected whisky lives a blamelessly quiet life near Elgin. One little drink of Marsala and the Lossie goes all Mediterranean.
8.5
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: A charred wood note, date, quite nutty in an oxidised wine fashion. Water brings out fruit cake.
Palate: Soft and smooth with a rich fruity core. That charred note comes through in a slightly jarring manner.
Finish: Long and quite dry.
Comment: One way to get people to rediscover Marsala, but what we need is to get them to discover Longmorn. More Sicilian than Speyside.
