Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Rice paper, vanilla sponge, cut grass, elderflower wine, and gooseberry jam. Some pink grapefruit zest. Sweet maltiness, like milk cookie.
Palate: Light. Vanilla forward, baked apple, pear and banana builds. Then comes fresh peach and apricot. Some sweet sponge cake. Develops a tutti-frutti character, with watermelon and pineapple.
Finish: Long and juicy. Fresh apricot and baked apple build in strength.
Comment: Starts off simple, then becomes steadily more complex.
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Closed initially, then opens to soft peach and tarragon, a hay loft on a hot summer’s day, and elderflower berries.
Palate: Much more grainy here, with more of the hay bales, freshly baked wholegrain loaf with honey spread on top. Then there’s caramel, more of the elderflower berries and fresh ginger spice.
Finish: A long-lasting combination of the drying ginger spice and elderflower berries.
Comment: It does take a little time to open up, but it’s a lovely combination of grain and sweetness that intrigues me.
