Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Marzipan oak, mature, oxidised, pruney, sub-Armagnac-esque dark fruits and hints of treacle. Layered with crisp rye giving balance. Muscavado sugar, sweet orange, feather-like corn and earth.
Palate: Ultra soft liquid orange and raisinated fruit liberally coated in treacle. Hints of dark coffee, chocolate, spice and slightly bitter oak.
Finish: Great finish! True, it’s a little austere with bitter chocolate and a surprising hint of rose petal marc, but the soft corn takes the edge off.
Comment: Copious eulogising is definitely deserved, but to be brief… wow!

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Very well integrated nose which gives some fruity-sweetness of redcurrants and plums, but also a nice spicy overtone of cinnamon and nutmeg. There is complexity here.
Palate: The cinnamon and nutmeg from the nose lead you into a world of old leather, secondhand bookstores and vintage car parts. Like a workshop from the 1920s, forgotten.
Finish: Off-dry becoming more spicy before finishing like an Old Fashioned.
Comment: Very, very good whiskey making, pure and simple.
