Tasting notes

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Delicate orchard fruits. Pencil case aromas: mostly shavings, but also white tack and felt-tip pen. Some very delicate florals, perhaps honeysuckle.
Palate: Light bodied. Very well-integrated malt and grain. Lovely poached apple and pear notes with custard, pie crust and whipped cream. A little coconut ice and milk chocolate. The hint of florality too.
Finish: Short and sweet. Ends on vanilla biscuit.
Comment: A very quaffable dram indeed.

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: A woodwork studio on a hot day. Resinous. Apple crumble straight out of the oven, powdered almonds and suntan oil. Dark berry compote sneaks in.
Palate: Smooth, but with a richness of dark berries. Verging on Black Forest gâteau. A hint of leather books, pencil shavings and coffee.
Finish: Long and warm with chopped walnuts, toasted brioche buns and plum jam.
Comment: This is an easy sipper, something with enough complexity to be interesting, but not one to make you question the meaning of whisky.
