Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Elegant stuff – dried apricots, malted milk biscuits, toasted bread with orange marmalade spread thinly. A little nuttiness, with sultanas. It’s all integrated perfectly.
Palate: A velvety texture delivers extremely well-balanced flavours. Very malty and juicy, with touches of toffee, and a lovely warmth. Milk chocolate. Sultanas, raisins, and nutmeg.
Finish: Slight creamy toffee, with a dash of orange and nutmeg.
Comment: An exceptionally classy Highland whisky with wonderfully expressed flavours. Bravo!

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Rum ‘n’ raisin fudge, figs, orange peel, glacé cherries, demerara sugar. Water amps up the juicy character, and it becomes more tropical – lime and desiccated coconut come to the fore. Mouthwatering.
Palate: Toffee, fig conserve, honey and demerara; sharp, bright lime and a smattering of star anise, black pepper and pencil shavings.
Finish: Dry and powdery, with a chocolaty aftertaste.
Comment: These tasting notes could constitute the world’s weirdest cake.
