Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Sour, spicy. Opens on a floral display of heady scents.Roasted chestnuts.
Palate: Sweet and sour. Spicier than oaky. Ginger, hint of chili.Roasted coffee.
Finish: Dry,spicy.
Comment: Obviously over sherried but there is some life under the coat of wood.
7.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Brown. Blackstrap molasses. Burnt and dense. Spent bonfire and liquorice.
Palate: Lighter in touch than 15 but there's greater astringency. Mouth puckeringly dry. Slightly betterwith water, but the story here is all about tannin.
Finish: Hard, bitter.
Comment: Sorry, but this isn't what old whisky is for me.
