Taster

Nose: Treacle and molasses, almost fungal. Nut bowl, leather and bitter chocolate, even cold tea.

Palate: Thick to start then increasingly bitter and tannic.

Finish: Dry and bitter.

Comment: A lot of wood...a lot of sherry wood but not a lot of Glen Grant.

Score: 6.5

Taster

Nose: Hazelnuts. The skin of the nut. Papery. Toasty.

Palate: Smooth as polished oak. Treacle-toffee. Walnuts.

Finish: Sappy. Slightly sour.

Comment: Enough character and complexity to withstand the heavy oakiness, but beginning to show its age.
