Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Dried fruit, earth, smoke. Water brings out rubber and pipe tobacco (a rough shag this one).

Palate: Sweet and savoury at the same time with real charred tones all the way through.

Finish: Starts crisp, then comes dried fruit, then those charred/singed fruits and finally earth and smoke.

Comment: Huge! A machiatto to the Glen Grant espresso.

Score: 8.5

Taster

Nose: Very woody. Leathery.

Palate: Slight toffee. Malty. Oily. Touches of mint, spiciness and hay. Quickly moving to woodiness.

Finish: Earthy, peaty, woody, drying.

Comment: Those flavours in mid-palate afford a glimpse of a delicious malt but the wood is very dominating.
