Rounded. On the sweet side.
Highlander 12 Years Old
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Fragrant, with that hint of nutmeg, but subtle and complex spiciness.
Palate: Rich, with cream and honey flavours. Reminded me of Atholl Brose.
Finish: Firm spicy.
Comment: Rounded. On the sweet side.
Nose: Slightly turfy nose with orange peel, saddles and dried heather but also a touch of solvent. Water makes it a little more scented-geraniums, wood polish. Pretty rich but also dry.
Palate: The oak is well-polished and maybe a little too upfront but there's a good mix of ripe, dark fruit and walnut behind.
Finish: Fruit, then dries.
Comment: The oak is a little heavy.
