Nose: Slightly tangy. An animal scent. Cowshed. Pop-corns. A touch of marshmallow. Honey on a warm\rbuttered toast. Fresh coffee. With water, Demerara sugar.

Palate: Sweet at start then opening on spices with a fizzy feel.Ginger, liquorice.

Finish: Dry,not very expressive.

Nose: Smoky. Damp earth,cowshed,vanilla, with a violet mote behind and a fleshiness akin to lychee. With water\rthere's oak,smokeand salami.

Palate: Dry start with big phenols but balanced. Just a hint of soapiness in the middle when neat. Good length.\rImproved by water. Substantial mid palate.

Finish: Hot embers. Little short.

Comment: Robust and strong-willed. Worth a look.
