Something very different and not for the faint hearted. Even after a few sips I couldn’t decide how I felt about it.

Nose: Woah! Cocoa puffs and BBQ smoke. Very grainy. Like puffed wheat squares. Chocolate, nuts, but an odd smokiness that seems to want to break through – not peat but campfire. Not like something I’ve nosed before. Weird but appealing.\n
Palate: Intense on palate – won’t be for everyone. Quite odd. Butter, smoke, baked cookies, menthol and wax.\n
Finish: Peanut butter and popcorn. Sticks around for a good while.\n

Nose: Quite oily and immature with plenty of herbal marc-like aromas and hints of wheat flakes and boiled sweets. With time some apple, pear, cocoa, earthy spice and a touch of beech wood smoke appears.
Palate: Oily and a little on the feinty side with some light nutty notes along with earthy spice but the overriding sensation is of immature spirit.\n
Finish: Medium length. Quite spicy with some natural, oily cocoa bean notes.\n
Comment: What is this? A flavoured whisky? A strange European whisky? Either way, it’s perhaps a bit young.
Score: 6.9
