Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Sweet sponge cake, marzipan, iced gems and a little chalkiness. With a little time and water pale sultanas, root ginger and floral notes appear among a strong lemon character.

Palate: Sweet, lots of vanilla, but with ginger powder spice too.

Finish: Candied fruits and a touch of smoke.

Comment: Elegant, complex and still forceful. It took water and developed well, holding its structure and continuing to interest.

Score: 8.5

Taster

Nose: Touch of smoke, dried grass, moss. Then apple, nut oils, toasted coconut, vanilla pod. Finally out come sweet spices and calf leather, toffee. Complex and sophisticated.

Palate: Intense and highly spiced. Honeyed with a sweet/savoury/spiced combination.

Finish: Very long and silky. Smoke gives another dimension.

Comment: Give this lots of time. Do so and you will be richly rewarded.
