I found this slightly strange but I like it.

Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Rusty copper and roasting tins, but this wears off. Espresso and orange lollipops. Turkish Delight flavoured with pear and apple. Melted lolly with water, unsurprisingly.
Palate: Minted toffee like humbugs, then a little lavender and clove. Spiced orange and ginger tea with a cinnamon stick infused in it.
Finish: Warming spice followed by cooling menthol.
Comment: I found this slightly strange but I like it.
Nose: More polished and less visceral than the Reserve Bourbon but it still has plenty of youthful, herbal rye and sweet oak. Hints of baked apple, orange, sweet liquorice and cigar smoke.
Palate: Like the nose it is polished and opens with plenty of sweet oak. The herbal rye is a little buried but the spice begins to build well towards the middle. Quite juicy with hints of citrus and liquorice.
Finish: Long and herbal with a pure vanilla pod sweetness.
Comment: Very enjoyable but just lacks the raw intensity of the Reserve Bourbon.
