Nose: Initial char note, smoky fruit and a hint of cough medicine.

Palate: Full and spicy, with stewed fruits and black pepper.

Finish: Long, barbecue embers, allspice, aniseed balls.

Comment: Very drinkable at high strength. Intriguing!

Nose: Somewhat closed up, but a drop of water releases some gentle floral aromas.\n

Palate: An intense fruity palate. Think dried fruits, oak spice and some ripe peaches too.

Finish: The finish is long, warming with a final kick of pepper.

Comment: At 51.5% ABV a drop or two of water is needed to open up and soften what is otherwise quite a full-on whisky.
