Not as enticing as the older versions. Lacks depth but it has nothing to do with youth. Water kills it down.
Legacy, Aged 10 Years
Islands (Non Islay)
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Sweet. Restrained. Pine nut. Rice pudding and custard. Caramel. With a dash of water, stewed apples.
Palate: Sweet, a bit soft and watery in the middle. Toffee and honey.
Finish: Short, dry. Nutty.
Comment: Not as enticing as the older versions. Lacks depth but it has nothing to do with youth. Water kills it down.
Nose: Earthy, damp bracken, pine wood, grass. Firm cereal notes. Warm, woollen hiking socks. Ovaltine. Slightly milky. Young, beginning to come together.
Palate: Nutty, crunchy, hazelnut. Grass. Unctuous feel. Sweet in the centre.
Finish: Crisp. Dry grass.
Comment: Seems bulkier than I recall.
